Greetings, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School!
We have successfully completed our first full week of school and students and staff have done a wonderful job navigating our new instructional model and block schedule. Please do not hesitate to reach out directly to your students counselor or Dean with any questions regarding block and/or you may email questions to blockschedule@warren.k12.in.us
This week students who have not had an opportunity to take their ID pictures will have another chance on Friday, August 9th. Also, we would love for you to join us for Back To School Night, this Thursday, August 8th, from 5:30-7:30. This is an opportunity for you to walk your students' schedule, meet and greet teachers and staff, visit our activity fair in the commons, and stop by our Warriorville bookstore. This evening is an opportunity for you to learn a little about your students' classes but it is not a time for individual student conferences with teachers. We will have actual Parent Teacher conferences later in the semester. You may always reach out directly to your student's teacher at any time via email with questions and concerns.
Attendance will remain a priority. The first week students had an opportunity to learn where their classes were and the best route to get to them. We will begin to count tardies to class. Students have 7 mins to get to classes. There is also a bell that rings warning when there is one minute remaining. If students are moving with a purpose they should be able to make it to class on time. Students with 6 or more absences to class and/or 10 or more tardies to class may be excluded from certain school specific extracurricular activities and events. Please speak with your students about the importance of getting to class on time and being present and actively participating in their learning.
As always thank you for all you do to support Warren and your students. I hope to see everyone on Thursday, August 8, at Back To School Night!
