WHY SERVE AS A GUEST TEACHER IN WARREN?

The Metropolitan School District of Warren Township is proud of our own Guest Teacher Program.  As a guest teacher in our district pool, you will be a Warren employee and an integral part of the daily educational program.  The guest teacher plays a very important role in upholding the high standards of teaching that we maintain in our district.  As such, you will be provided with a work email and have access to training and support.  The schedule is flexible: you can work half-days or whole days, and can choose the school buildings and grade levels you feel most comfortable teaching.

Permanent Building Guest Teachers (PBGTs) are full-time employees assigned to the same building every day. PBGTs are part of the school building staff and attend all meetings and most professional learning opportunities.  We provide our PBGTs with support staff benefits.

NOW HIRING: GUEST TEACHERS READY TO SERVE

GUEST TEACHER PAY: $90 per day ($45 per half-day assignment)

PERMANENT BUILDING GUEST TEACHERS: $100 per day PLUS Support Staff benefits (181 work days)

RETIREE GUEST TEACHERS: $100 per day for Warren retired teachers with a valid license

EMPLOYMENT AS A GUEST TEACHER

All guest teachers must hold either a valid Indiana teacher license or a substitute teacher permit.  Please apply online (see the application link under Human Resources).  As soon as a guest teacher candidate has been interviewed, completed background check materials and submitted a copy of a teacher license or substitute permit, we will schedule a time for the candidate to attend a comprehensive orientation session.  We pay new guest teachers $35 for attending orientation in part to cover the cost of the initial expanded criminal history check (guest teachers will receive the difference on their first paycheck).

Guest teachers will be employed on a daily basis during the school calendar, and may not assume or expect to be considered for future employment unless they receive a written statement of reasonable assurance of continued employment from Human Resources.
