The Pantherbots, Pleasant Run Elementary robotics team, competed in The Indianapolis VEX Robotics Championship competition this past weekend. The Pantherbots received the Ballard Excellence Award for which they received a State Championship qualifying spot. Congratulations on a job well done! Way to go Pantherbots!
Prior to break, Mr. Koomler. Pleasant Run Principal, and several staff members met with the new youth pastor (Pastor Nate King) from New Beginnings Fellowship Church which is located at 21st & German Church Rd. Pastor Nate was extremely excited to work with the Pleasant Run families and began working on the "High Five" idea right away. Pleasant Run's very own 'High Five" initiative rally took place on this Monday morning when the students returned to school. Exciting! A wonderful way to begin the second semester in 2017!

For students, one of the College and Career Ready standards’ most important new requirements is that correct answers alone will not be enough. Correct answers are very important, but along with them there is a new set of “mathematical practices” that teachers will expect from students. This is part of their preparation for 21st century jobs. More information>>>.
Does your child ever take too much time to do homework… need an extra boost of self-esteem…use social media…or choose not to follow your directions? As a parent, do you ever feel like you could use some support from other parents who have the same concerns with their children as you? If so, you are encouraged to register for our upcoming PAC (Parents are the Core) sessions. Throughout the school year, six sessions will be offered for parents. Topics include: how to determine what makes your child special and strategies for building these strengths, homework tips, discipline, your child and social media, and information Warren Township parents need to know. The sessions will be held from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at school throughout the school year. Free supervised activities will be offered for children, ages 5-12, who attend with their parents. PAC Kids is open only to children whose parents are attending PAC. Activities will include crafts, computer games and activities, game nights, gym activities, fun projects, snacks, and entertainment. If you are
unable to attend the session at our school, the topics will be offered at every other Warren Township elementary and intermediate academy. Call the school office or check the Warren Township website for this information. PAC Web Page>>> Contact the school office to register for a session.
